I love a good shortcut, and these potato wedges are one of those recipes I lean on when I'm tired, hungry, and honestly not in the mood to "actually cook." You're basically taking frozen wedges, crisping them in the oven, and whisking together the easiest dipping sauce ever.

Potato Wedges with Sweet Chili this sugar

My family goes through these so fast I barely get a chance to sit down. And honestly, that's how I know a recipe is a keeper.

Why I Make These All the Time

They're fast

Five minutes of prep. The oven does the rest.

They're budget-friendly

Three ingredients I always have on hand.

Everyone loves them

Kids, adults, guests. They disappear every single time.

They work for everything

Movie nights, game days, after-school snacks, or "I forgot to plan dinner."

What You Need

Just three simple ingredients. That's it.

  • Frozen potato wedges
  • Light sour cream
  • Sweet chili sauce

Ingredient amounts are provided in the recipe card below.

How I Make Them

Honestly, it doesn't get easier than this.

  1. Preheat the oven to 220C or 200C fan.
  2. Spread the wedges out in a single layer across two trays.

  1. Bake according to the package directions until golden and crisp.

  1. Serve the wedges hot with the dip on the side.

I always double the dip because someone in my house refuses to share.

My Best Tips

Don't crowd the trays

Space equals crispiness.

Flip halfway

Both sides need that heat.

Pair with extra dips

Ranch, garlic aioli, barbecue sauce. No wrong answers here.

Variations I Love

  • Add a squeeze of lime to the dip
  • Stir in fresh chives or green onions
  • Use hot chili sauce if you like things spicy
  • Serve with shredded cheese sprinkled over the hot wedges

Quick FAQ

Can I use regular potatoes instead

You can, but frozen wedges are faster and crisp better with zero effort.

Can I make the dip ahead of time

Yes. Chill it in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Are these good for parties

They're perfect. Put out a big tray and watch them disappear.

Description

The easiest snack I make on busy days: crispy frozen potato wedges with a 2-ingredient dip. Quick, budget-friendly, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 kg frozen potato wedges
  • 125 g light sour cream
  • 2 tsp sweet chili sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220C or 200C fan.
  2. Arrange the potato wedges in a single layer on two baking trays.
  3. Bake according to the package directions until crisp and golden.
  4. Meanwhile, mix the sour cream and sweet chili sauce in a small bowl.
  5. Serve the hot wedges with the dipping sauce.

Notes

Don't crowd the trays to keep them crispy. Flip halfway through baking. Try lime juice, chives, or spicy chili sauce for variations.
