This Chicago mild sauce recipe delivers a perfect balance of tang, sweetness, and gentle heat. Think of it as the ideal partner for grilled ribs, chicken, or even roasted vegetables—its smooth texture and vibrant orange color make every bite unforgettable.

Inspired by Chicago’s backyard barbecues, this sauce combines ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and just enough hot sauce to leave a pleasant tingle on the tongue. Brown sugar and orange juice round out the flavor with caramel sweetness and citrus brightness. Whip it up in 10 minutes and your grill feast will never be the same.
