If you grew up with a red box of Bisquick in the pantry, this bisquick strawberry shortcake recipe is about to bring back some memories.

At Potluck Eats, I focus on recipes that real families can make without stress. And this one checks every box. It's fast. It's simple. It uses pantry staples. And it tastes like summer.

Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake this sugar

This bisquick strawberry shortcake recipe gives you fluffy, golden drop biscuits topped with sweet strawberries and whipped cream. No rolling pins. No complicated steps. Just comfort food done right.

Why I Love This Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Some desserts are fancy. This is not one of them.

This is the kind of dessert you make after dinner because strawberries were on sale and everyone wants something sweet. It's ready in about 25 minutes, which makes it perfect for busy weeknights or last minute guests.

What makes this bisquick strawberry shortcake recipe work so well?

• Drop biscuit style means less mess
• Sticky dough keeps the biscuits tender
• Fresh strawberries add natural sweetness
• Whipped cream keeps it classic

It is simple in the best possible way.

A Little Nostalgia

Bisquick has been around for generations. Grandmas used it. Moms used it. And honestly, it still holds up today.

Over the years, there have been different versions of shortcake made with Bisquick:

• Rolled and cut like traditional biscuits
• Spread in a pan and sliced into wedges
• Dropped by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet

I prefer the drop method. It is easier and perfect for busy families. No flour clouds all over the counter.

Ingredients You'll Need

Quantities are listed in the recipe card below for easy printing.

For the Strawberries

• Fresh strawberries
• Granulated sugar

For the Shortcake Biscuits

• Bisquick Original Baking Mix
• Milk
• Butter or margarine, melted
• Sugar

For Serving

• Whipped cream or whipped topping

That's it. Nothing complicated.

How To Make Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Step 1 Prep the Strawberries

Wash and slice the strawberries.

Sprinkle half the sugar over them and gently stir. Let them sit while you make the biscuits. They will get juicy and syrupy.

If you want extra saucy strawberries, mash half of them before mixing. It makes a big difference.

Step 2 Make the Dough

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a large bowl stir together:

• Melted butter or margarine
• Milk
• Bisquick
• Remaining sugar

Stir just until a sticky dough forms. Do not overmix. Sticky is good here.

Step 3 Drop and Bake

Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop mounds of dough onto a lined baking sheet.

Keep them about the size of a golf ball. Too big and they may stay doughy in the middle.

Bake 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown on top.

Let cool about 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 4 Assemble

Split the warm biscuit in half.

Spoon strawberries over the bottom half. Add whipped cream. Place the top back on and add more strawberries and cream if you like.

Serve while slightly warm for best flavor.

You can bake the biscuits earlier in the day and warm them slightly before serving.

Store leftover biscuits covered at room temperature for one day.

Store strawberries in the refrigerator.

Assemble just before serving so the biscuits do not get soggy.
